Deutsche Bucht offshore wind park contract

Vos Prodect Innovations BV has received a contract back in November 2017, from Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke GmbH (NSW) to design and deliver inter array cable hang-off systems for the Deutsche Bucht offshore wind park.

Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) and Offshore Substation (OSS) hang-off systems will be delivered with a proven sealing system. A sealed hang-off system has a significant effect in reducing and eliminating the risk of hydrogen gases rising up from inside of the monopile due to the induced current cathodic protection (ICCP) system in the closed compartment between sea surface and air tight deck. This is an essential topic for health and safety, which is addressed during the design phase of monopile foundations.

Deutsche Bucht is a 252 MW offshore wind farm located in the North Sea, approximately 95 km north-west of the island of Borkum. It comprises 31 MHI Vestas Offshore Wind 164-8.0MW (8.4MW Power Mode) turbines that will provide renewable energy to more than 178,000 households. Deutsche Bucht is Northland Power’s third offshore wind farm in the North Sea and planned to be completed in late 2019.

Delivery of the hang-off systems is scheduled in the first half of 2018 to increase the efficiency in logistical operations.
