Cable hang-off system

The VPI Hang-Off System is a highly efficient cable hang-off system designed for securing medium and high voltage power cables to the top of a foundation/cable deck of a monopile, jacket or rig. The VPI HOS utilises both temporary and permanent hang-off clamps that are both operated independently, separating cable operations.

Tube entry system

The VPI Tube Entry System is devised for a smooth cable pull-in into either a J- or I-Tube. VPI TES has been developed with a unique mechanism that requires no moving or mechanical parts. The design has been engineered for simplicity and ease during installation, 0% failure/malfunction rates during pull-in, strong and durable protection of the cable and is a cost effective solution.

    The VPI Cable protection system has been developed over the past 30 years and consists of two primary products – the VPI CIS (Cast Iron Shell) and VPI HPS (Hybrid Protection Shell). The VPI CIS is utilised for the cable in contact with the sea bed and the VPI HPS is utilised for the free span areas leading into the monopile. The VPI CIS (also known as Articulated Pipes within the industry) is casted from cast iron half shells whereas the VPI HPS is formed using the cast iron half shells along with an outer polyurethane shell, to provide extra corrosion protection around the free span areas.

    The VPI Cable Bend Stiffener provides protection against overbending during installation and operation, amongst demanding applications where longevity in service life is vital. Formed by polyurethane material, the VPI CBS are engineered to specifically suit your project parameters. 

      Joint bend restrictor

      VPI have devised a Joint Bend Restrictor system in order to safely lower VPI’s subsea protection systems onto the sea floor bed in a safe and consistent manner. Utilising a VPI CPS in conjunction with additional chains (varying in length) across the joint box section between the cables, the VPI JBR will ensure that the cables are lowered without compromising the MBR of the cables.

        The VPI Onshore Landing Clamp, also referred to as a ‘Beach Clamp’, is a hang-off system that is utilised onshore on a variety of interfacing application surfaces, typically carrying the power or data from the transformers onto the land. The VPI OLC provides ease of assembly and a prolonged service lifetime with sealing option.
