Vos Prodect combine and collaborate with Jan De Nul once again for the Pentand Firth East project 3. Pentland Firth, located between the Orkney Islands and the mainland of Scotland, is known for its strong currents and winds and various projects have been undertaken there to harness this renewable energy source.
The Pentland First East project 3, consists of a new subsea power cable between Caithness at Murkle Bay to Rackwick Bay at Hoy. Jan De Nul are contacted to install the subsea power cable and Vos Prodect’s were selected to supply of over 2000 metres of articulated cast iron protection pipes.
Vos Prodect have an excellent delivery record for supplying articulated pipes for SSEN projects within the Scottish vicinity, having previously supplied 1800 metres of articulated pipes in 2020 for Pentland Firth East project 2 and also in 2022 supplying over 2000 metres of cable protection systems for the Orkney Isles Project.
Vos Prodect Cable Protection Shells accommodate a wide range of cable sizes. From fibre optic cable protection to large export cables, we have a variety of cast iron shells to suit the cable diameters of the project specification. The cast iron shells from Vos Prodect offer a design lifetime of 25 years however this can be extended by a further 10 years by galvanising and fabricating the shells to suit the project needs. Our proven reliability on lead time and delivery ensure that the cast iron shells are manufactured and ready in time for the installation schedule.
